Woodland One-derland

Woodland One-derland birthday party
We had a real hoot celebrating my son’s first birthday party! I chose the woodland theme because it is so darn cute! This was a lot of fun to plan and put together. I’ll break it down so you can too!

Decorations:

I made this leaf garland out of fabric leaves I bought at target. I used a thick thread and a yarn needle to thread them together. Then I tied a knot at the bottom and hung them to dangle from the ceiling with some green streamers.

I got the wall decorations at Hobby Lobby as well as the cupcake toppers and liners, the stand, plates, napkins and the icing gel color.

The centerpiece and leaf came from Target and I used a burlap table runner from the dollar section, but you could easily make your own.

Food:

The pond water is blue Kool-Aid, my kids don’t care for soda, but what kid doesn’t love Kool-Aid?!

String cheese and and cherry tomatoes cut in half on a toothpick made for delicious mushrooms everyone could enjoy and pretzels became forest twigs.

Fresh picked candy apples anyone? I just used a metal melon baller and melted caramels like you do for the big ones. Keep in mind that really juicy apples may cause the caramel to melt if they sit too long so pick a drier variety.

I did a little smash cake too, but of course I cannot find the pictures of it! I made a little tiny ONE banner and wove it around some skewers to stick in the cake and I textured the avocado green icing with a spatula.

A first birthday party success!
